MPR Interview for 74 seconds

On July 6th, 2017 I interviewed with Minnesota Public Radio on their podcast 74 Seconds, which is about the murder of Philando Castile. While interviewing I spoke about the injustices black people face and how it impacts youth. I also spread the message of how music can help heal and promotes peace.

Bomba History Teaching

On May 13th, 2017 I instructed a class about Bomba and it's history at Southdale library. To do this I planned a small course about Bomba which will be useful for future teaching. The class consisted of teaching the rhythms and steps of the dance along with history on the island and the tradition.

Wedding Performance

On May 20th, 2017, I danced Bomba at a wedding. I also sang and danced Plena, another form of Puerto Rican dance. The performance lasted an hour and the newly Weds were very happy.

Purple Philanthropy

After Prince passed away, his close friend and past fiance Sheila E did a tribute to him. It was done to celebrate his life and raise funds for the organizations that he helped while he was alive. With Mobile Jazz Project, I was able to perform two songs that I sang/rapped and wrote in. The two songs were I Hear A Voice and See Me Now. The performance went very well and having Sheila E talk about the songs positively was amazing. The event took place on October 23, 2016.

Capri Theater

For the preview if "13TH" I was able to perform two songs at the Capri Theater. The event was put together by Ava DuVernay, and was in partnership with Netflix.

Move the Crowd

Since I am a senior apprentice at Juxtaposition Arts, I was chosen to represent the Graphics Lab to all of our sponsors at Move the Crowd. For this event, I communicated with the donors and showed them my work. Many of them were also very interested in having JXTA design products for them. This took place on May 5th 2017
